What happens to the twenty-five students already on a curriculum when you fix it? Usually nothing, because re-issuing it one student at a time is more work than the fix. Version history is how you change the plan for everyone on it without rewriting anyone's, and without losing what they have already done.
Publish the change once
Fix a level, reorder a unit, swap a piece — once, in one place. Publishing turns it into the next version of the curriculum, for every class and teacher running it.
Every enrolled student moves with it
Students already on the curriculum are brought across to the new version together, instead of re-issuing plans one student at a time.
Nothing they've already done is lost
Publishing archives the old version rather than editing it in place, so completed work stays attached to the version it was completed against. A student's record reads as one continuous history.
